The fighter in his thirties says he felt he had to take the decision because unarmed protests in Russia against the war "are not working." Established in the early summer of 2023, the volunteer Siberian Battalion is a part of the International Legion within the Ukrainian armed forces. Its soldiers are a varied group - both ethnic Russians and members of minority ethnic groups.
