Work communication should be seen as part of our real work
Meetings, emails and chat programs account for 57% of a knowledge worker's workweek, with Excel, Word and PowerPoint making up the remainder, according to Microsoft. The author argues that email and meetings should be seen as core parts of many jobs, rather than separate from "real work". By taking them more seriously, employees and managers can improve their communication skills, reduce unnecessary meetings and right-size individual assignments to fit a normal workday.
