US, UK, French ambassadors skip Nagasaki ceremony over decision to snub Israel Ambassadors from the US, Britain, France and other EU nations did not attend the official commemoration on Friday of the atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki in protest against Israeli officials not being invited, with the French embassy calling the decision "regrettable". Western envoys instead attended a prayer meeting at a Tokyo temple to mark the occasion.
