Nikolov unveiled a major scandal early 2023 regarding the purchasing of military food rations. While Nikolov was absent from his apartment on Sunday, his ailing mother was present, FRANCE 24's Gulliver Cragg said, reporting from Kyiv. The unnamed men left threatening messages on the door accusing Nikolov of being a "provocateur".
