'They thought that they were safe': Israel Gaza strike kills seven staff members of US food charity A US-based charity blamed Israel on Tuesday for a strike that killed seven of its staff unloading food brought to the war-torn Gaza Strip by sea to help alleviate looming famine. The group World Central Kitchen said it was pausing operations after the "targeted Israeli strike" killed Gaza aid workers on Monday. "They thought that they were safe, because the three-car convoy that they were in had markings that said 'World Central Kitchen'", said FRANCE 24's Rob Parsons, reporting from Hebron, West Bank.
