The land of equality? Where France stands on women's rights As we once again mark International Women's Day, we're focusing on the French government's stance on equality. The country has still yet to have its first female president; the gender pay gap stubbornly hovering at around 16 percent while neighbouring Spain is leading the way on dealing with domestic violence and consent.
