Slovakia bans imports of Ukrainian grain after Poland, Hungary The European Union's in a standoff with member states Poland, Hungary and Slovakia after they announced bans on grain imports from neighboring Ukraine. Last year's waiver on tarifs from the EU lowering prices for local farmers. In the case of Poland, those farmers are usually big supporters of the ruling party.
