Sexual assault trial of French film star Depardieu opens in his absence French actor Gérard Depardieu said on Monday that he would not be appearing before a criminal court in Paris due to health reasons. Depardieu is facing charges of sexual assault that allegedly occurred during a 2021 film shoot. The names of the two women accusing him have not been made public.
