Romania's agriculture sector devastated by drought, desertification In Romania, extreme weather events are intensifying. While eastern parts of the country are slowly recovering from Storm Boris, the south is suffering from drought and desertification. Romania is one of the EU's main exporters of cereals, but heatwaves have compromised crops, particularly corn and sunflower.
