Marxist-leaning Dissanayaka set to become Sri Lanka's next president Marxist lawmaker Anura Kumara Dissanayake is on course to become Sri Lanka’s next president Sunday, according to results published by the Election Commission showing him leading with 40 percent of the votes. A second count, however, is under way to determine the winner as no candidate secured over 50 percent of the popular vote.
