Live: French President Macron says pension reform bill should be enacted by end of the year President Emmanuel Macron gave a live television interview on Wednesday as demonstrations against the government's controversial pension reform continued. The president said he seeks to enact the unpopular bill by the end of this year and for life in the country to get back to normal. Union leaders meanwhile denounced Macron's "disdain" for the people who have been protesting.
