In northern Colombia, police cell blocks are crammed with prisoners awaiting trial Colombian government officials have released photos of prisoners, many of them ill, jam-packed one on top of another in cells in three different police stations in northern Colombia. A delegation representing the Colombian Office of the Ombudsman (Defensor del Pueblo) has condemned the terrible living conditions many inmates have been subjected to for years.
