Greenland arrests anti-whaling activist and Greenpeace co-founder Paul Watson Prominent anti-whaling activist and co-founder of Greenpeace Paul Watson was arrested on Monday in Greenland under an international warrant issued by Japan in 2012. Watson's foundation said that the reactivation of the Interpol Red Notice against him is "politically motivated", as it believes Japan plans to resume high-seas whaling in the Southern Ocean and North Pacific by 2025.
