French former president Sarkozy has electronic tag removed Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has had his electronic tag removed after serving just over three months of a one-year sentence for corruption, prosecutors said Thursday, following a decision by French authorities to grant Sarkozy early parole. Sarkozy was fitted with the tag in February instead of serving a jail sentence for illegal attempts to secure favours from a judge.
