EU slams Poland, Hungary move to ban Ukrainian grain imports Slovakia has announced it will halt the import of grains from Ukraine following a similar ban by Poland and Hungary. The bans are linked to price rise with Warsaw and Budapest saying they need to protect their farmers from cheaper Ukrainian imports. The European Commission (based in Brussels) has said such unliteral action is unacceptable. And, it is due to discuss the issue this week.
