D.R. Congo massacre: Mass graves haunt town in Eastern DRC In the battered village of Kishishé in North Kivu, last autumn, at least 170 people were massacred. After several weeks of occupation, the M23 left the village to redeploy some 20 km away. The threat is therefore still real, but no armed force has come to protect civilians.
