Access to higher education in Niger: In Niamey, students and teachers push for change In Niger, significant investments have led to remarkable improvements in students' situation, from beefed-up scholarships to upgraded university facilities. Yet, to this day, 23% of young people aged 15 to 29 are still unemployed. Many youths leave the country either before starting their studies or right after graduation due to the lack of job opportunities. Yet, some choose to remain in the country, or to return after a stint abroad to contribute to Niger’s development. FRANCE 24's Harold Girard and Lucas Philippe report.
